↳ MATT DEAN · THE SPIDERLIFT NERD

Difficult access job? Start with the site, not the machine.

I help UK businesses choose the right spider lift or truck mount for awkward access, restricted setup areas and sensitive sites. National hire through Wilson Access, with site visits for jobs that need a closer look.

↳ REAL JOB CASE NOTE · MIDNIGHT SETUP

Solving the job another company couldn't start.

"We got called in after a previous access supplier turned up and left. Narrow courtyard entrance, tight outrigger footprint over sensitive floor loading limits, and 21m working height needed before morning operations resumed. I surveyed the site, calculated outrigger loadings, specified a Teupen Leo 39GT Plus, and arranged delivery. Dale sent this photo at midnight when the machine was safely rigged."

↳ SPECIFICATION METHODOLOGY

How I specify a spider lift job.

Selecting a spider lift starts with site constraints, ground conditions, and access dimensions long before looking at boom charts.

Step 01

Access & Gateways

Measuring narrow doorways, garden gates, right-angle turns, and height clearance along the complete travel path.

Step 02

Ground & Outriggers

Checking point loads on tiles, lawns, or suspended slabs, and matching spreader pads to surface constraints.

Step 03

Setup Area & Slopes

Evaluating outrigger levelling capacity on gradients and checking turret tail-swing clearance against walls.

Step 04

Reach & Power

Selecting exact working height, up-and-over outreach, and bi-energy or lithium power for indoor zero-emission work.

↳ NATIONAL SPIDER LIFT HIRE
